Did you reinstall your OS? Or change username? Cause that can delete save files.

As long as you are playing a legit copy you only need to install the APK and it will update the version you have currently on your device.
How can I update the version of the game without losing the saved files?
On Android, just install the new APK. For all other platforms just download and run the game. You can delete your old version. Saves are safe

If you download 7z you can process them files. If I'm wrong though go with WinRAR both are free.
